Day 1 – Mexico City
Your adventure begins in Mexico City at the airport. Arrival transfer from Mexico City airport to the hotel. If your flight lands in the morning, you will have plenty of time to go for a city walk or relax after the demanding flight.

Day 2 – Mexico City (B)
Half day tour of Mexico City downtown area (Zocalo) including visits to the National Palace (with its famous Diego Rivera’s murals), Metropolitan Cathedral, and Templo Mayor (from the outside). You will admire some of the most beautiful colonial facades such as those of the Mining Palace, the Communications Palace, and the Mailing Palace; also the wonderful façade of the Palace of Fine Arts. This tour also includes a visit to the extraordinary National Museum of Anthropology, with its rich collections of pre-Hispanic art. We will have the opportunity of admiring some of its most interesting rooms. Return to hotel with the afternoon at leisure. (It is important to point out that all museums are closed on Mondays.)

Day 3 – San Juan Teotihuacan (B)
After breakfast drive to San Juan Teotihuacan for a visit to this imposing archaeological site. Our visit includes the Road of the Dead, the Citadel, the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, as well as the famous pyramids of the Sun and Moon. On the way back to the city, we will stop at the Shrine of Guadalupe, considered as their holy patroness by large segments of the population in Mexico and Central America. Return to hotel with the rest of the afternoon free.

Day 4 – Cuernavaco, Taxco (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Early departure over a modern speedway, down to Cuernavaca, the “City of the Eternal Spring”, which was the summer residence of Conqueror Hernán Cortés and of Emperor Maximilian. After a visit to the continent’s oldest cathedral, a fortress-like solid-stone colonial construction with an ultra modern main altar. We continue to drive into the rugged mountains of Guerrero state, to the quaint silver mining town of Taxco. A sightseeing walk takes us to the beautiful baroque church of Santa Prisca, with its splendid “churrigueresco” style gilded altarpieces. There is plenty of time to stroll around the cobbled-stone streets with the opportunity to watch the silversmiths at work. Return to Mexico City in the late afternoon.

Day 5 – Mexiko City – San Cristobel de las Casas (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Mexico City airport in time for flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez; upon arrival, overland transfer to San Cristobal de las Casas, visiting en-route Chiapa de Corzo and the Sumidero Canyon with boat ride along the river. On this day it is important that the flight arrives in Tuxtla Gutierrez before 1pm as we are including shared basis services. If the flight arrives after that time, it is important to consider that a supplement for private service will have to be applied.

Day 6 – San Cristobel de las Casas (B)
After breakfast, morning visit of this enchanting town, which has preserved all the charm of colonial days. The visit includes the splendid 16th century Cathedral and church of Santo Domingo. The tour continues to San Juan Chamula, a nearby tzotzil village, where inhabitants have not only preserved their language, costumes and social system, but also practice their own brand of religion, in a unique syncretic mixture that incorporates their ancient pagan deities with Christian saints and symbols. A visit to the temple of San Juan Bautista thus becomes an unforgettable experience. The afternoon is free, so we may browse through the market and the many tempting handicraft shops, a real treasure trove for arts-and-crafts hunters.

Day 7 – Agua Azul, Palenque (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Agua Azul to visit the beautiful cascades. Continue overland to Palenque arriving at hotel Plaza Palenque for overnight.

Day 8 –Palenque (B)
Breakfast at hotel. We start our visit to one of the most beautiful and emblematic landmarks of the classical Mayan culture: the ruins of the city of Palenque. Its most important monuments include the Temple of the Inscriptions, where an important burial chamber was discovered in the ’50s, and the imposing architectural complex of El Palacio, one of the most beautiful constructions to be found in the entire environment of Maya culture. Also the smaller temples of the Sun and of the Cross, with their magnificent bas-reliefs, which constitute absolute jewels among the high cultures of Middle America, will be visited. Drive to Villahermosa airport in time for the flight to Merida. Upon arrival you pick up a car and head to the hotel for accommodation.

Day 9 – Kabah, Uxmal – by car (B)
After breakfast, day tour including Kabah, an archaeological site bare witness to the grandeur of the Mayan civilisation, where you will enjoy a visit to the Codsz-pop or Temple of the Masks, dedicated to the rain god Chac, and you will see the architecturally interesting structure of the Mayan arch built as the starting point of one of the “sac-bes” or white road which integrated the efficient roads network of this ancient culture. Then drive to Uxmal, considered by connoisseurs as the most beautiful of all Mayan cities, where you will admire the perfection of the Nunnery Quadrangle, climb the steep gradins of the Temple of the Sorcerer with its particular echo, and awe at the beauty of the Palace of the Governor. Return to Merida in the afternoon with the remainder of day at leisure.

Day 10 – Chichen Itzá – by car (B)
In the morning you can set off for Merida sightseeing. In the afternoon drive to Chichen-Itzá, one of the largest and most impressive archaeological sites of the Americas, the melting pot of the Toltec and Mayan Culture. You can either go for a sightseeing or leave it for another day.

Day 11 – Coba – by car (B)
Sightseeing of Chichen Itzá will include the Ball Game Court, the Temple of the Warriors, the Kukulkan pyramid and the observatory, as well as the sacred “cenote” (well) where Mayan maidens were sacrificed to the rain god. In the afternoon you proceed to Coba, which is another large ruined city of the Pre-Columbian Maya civilization, located around two lagoons. The site contains several large temple pyramids, the tallest, in what is known as the Nohoch Mul group of structures, being some 42 meters (138ft) in height (tallest in the Yucatan). Accommodation in a hotel.

Day 12 – Playa del Carmen, Tulum – by car (B)
In the morning you can explore Coba if you did not manage it previous day, or relax. In the afternoon proceed on to the beach resort of Playa del Carmen. On the way, you can stop at Tulum, here are the ruins located on 12m (39ft) high cliffs, along the coast. It is popular for the picturesque view of the Caribbean. What about staying a bit longer and having a swim in the Caribbean before arriving at hotel for 3-night accommodation.

Day 13, 14 – Playa del Carmen – by car (B)
These are days at leisure. You can relax on the beach, or take part in some optional excursions.

Day 15 – Flight out
Drive to the Cancun airport, drop the car here and fly back home, depending on your flight schedule. Your stay in Mexico and our services end at this point.
