TOUR DESCRIPTION
Fabulous Buenos Aires is probably the most European city in South America, full of opportunities to learn Spanish, watch fútbol (soccer), dance the sexy tango and interact with dynamic and beautiful porteños (Buenos Aires locals). You’ll be out shopping for designer clothes at affordable prices and eating the world’s best steaks every day. The city never sleeps.
Day 1 – Buenos Aires
Welcome to Ezeiza the International Airport of Buenos Aires. Transfer to the hotel with an English speaking guide. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. You can either go out to explore the city or relax after the flight.
Day 2 – Buenos Aires (B)
You will discover the highlights of the attractive and pulsating capital of Argentina during a 3-hour city tour. The metropolis is famous for being the Paris of South America and travellers will quickly recognise it by looking at its architecture. You will visit the heart of the city, the May Square (Plaza de Mayo), with the Government House (Casa Rosada) on one side of the square and the Cathedral (which is visited during the tour) on the other side, and the City Hall. The Cabildo is right across the street, it is the Town Hall of colonial times. From there, the bus drives you through San Telmo (a tango district) to La Boca, with its most famous colourful and picturesque houses on Caminito Street. At the end of the tour you will visit the Recoleta neighbourhood with wide avenues, parks and residential houses in French style. Here, you will visit the unique monumental cemetery, where Evita Perón and other historical people are buried. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. We highly recommend an evening Tango Show, which can be arranged on request.
Day 3 – Buenos Aires (B)
This is a half-day tour (about 4 hours) through the elegant suburbs of Olivos, Martinez and San Isidro, that will show travellers the streets and avenues lined by colourful trees, and lovely houses, some from mid 19th century. You will board a typical river boat at Tigre for a 60-minute cruise along the canals and streams that thread their way among many islands. The Paraná river starts far in the North, in Brazil, just South of the Amazon basin, and ends in this vast delta, before it flows into the river de la Plata. The vegetation in the delta is dense and many Porteños (inhabitants of Buenos Aires) have made sailing clubs and weekend homes, built on stilts because of frequent flooding. The way back to the hotel is along the Panamericana highway. The afternoon is at leisure again.
