Patagonia is one of the most beautiful and impressive parts of South America. If you fancy nature, mountains, glaciers and glacier lakes then this is the region for you! Patagonia is a wondrous example of one of nature’s most pristine and desolate creations. Its mysterious lands encompass every form of life you can imagine. Everything from the ripping seas along the Atlantic ocean to the towering peaks of the Andes mountains; from the waddling colonies of Magellanic Penguins to the native roaming guanacos; from the flat empty lands along Ruta 40 to the cinnamon colored Arrayanes National Forest – this place has got it all!

Day 2 – Buenos Aires (B)
You will discover the highlights of the attractive and pulsating capital of Argentina during a 3-hour city tour. The metropolis is famous for being the Paris of South America and the visitor will quickly recognize it by looking at its architecture. You will visit the heart of the city, the May Square (Plaza de Mayo), with the Government House (Casa Rosada) on one side of the square and the Cathedral (which is visited during the tour) on the other side, and the City Hall. The Cabildo is right across the street, it is the Town Hall of colonial times. From there, the bus drives you through San Telmo (the tango district) to La Boca, with its most famous colourful and picturesque houses on Caminito Street. At the end of the tour you will visit the Recoleta neighbourhood with wide avenues, parks and residential houses in French style. Here, you will visit the unique monumental cemetery, where Evita Perón and other historical people are buried. The rest of the day is at leisure. We highly recommend an evening Tango Show, which can be arranged for you on request.

Day 3 – Buenos Aires – El Calafate (B)
You will fly in the morning from El Calafate to Southern Argentina, Patagonia. Arrival at Calafate. You will be met by a guide to be transferred to a hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. You can either take a walk along the lake or relax at the hotel.

Day 4 – El Calafate, Perito Moreno (B)
In the amazing “Glacier National Park” you will have the opportunity to see many glaciers, turquoise blue lakes and snow-capped Andean mountain peaks. During this drive, you will notice the dramatic change in landscape. While in El Calafate everything is dry, harsh, and flat, at the park entrance you will see trees, mountains and green vegetation. You have reached the foot of the Andes where plenty of rain is falling all year long. Soon you will see the breathtaking Perito Moreno glacier. Due to unusually favourable local conditions, it is one of the few advancing glaciers in the planet. You will be highly impressed standing only a few metres away from its 60 to 80-metre-high walls. The deep blue colours of the ice and the shape of the glacier with all its small columns are unbelievable! But it is also an auditory experience, when huge icebergs on the face of the glacier calve and collapse into the lake. You will be driven back to the hotel after the excursion, for overnight.

Day 5 – El Calafate, optional cruise to glaciers (B)
Day at your leisure, but we highly recommend an optional boat excursion Todo Glacieras. It sets off from the Punta Bandera Pier, where a catamaran sets sail through the Argentino Lake heading wesstwards to the Upsala Channel to observe the magnificent icebergs floating on the lake surrounding the vessel. Afterwards, it heads to the Spegazzini Channel to admire the highest glacier´s wall in the whole National Park, which can reach 130 masl. Before proceeding to the port, it enters the Icebergs Channel to navigate in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Overnight in hotel.
